Reishi

Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), also called "mushroom of eternal youth", is among the most famous medicinal mushrooms. This mushroom is traditionally valued in oriental medical practices such as traditional Chinese medicine.

In Asia, it symbolizes longevity and happiness , earning it the nickname "king of medicinal mushrooms". It is also known by other names such as "Ling Zhi", "Chizhi" or "Youngzhi".

For over 2,000 years, Taoist monks, herbalists, and Chinese royalty have used Reishi to prolong life , prevent aging , and make the body "light and supple."

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and, following it, the Kampo medicine of Japan, consider the flesh of Reishi to be a precious tonic for Qi (or Chi), the vital energy which supports the entire organism.

This medicinal mushroom is recognized on the one hand for its action on cholesterolemia and on the other hand for the support it can provide to the immune system.

Today, the number of publications around Reishi continues to increase, which demonstrates a growing interest in its applications. Its role is studied in many areas such as immunology, anti-aging, emotional mental health, metabolic endocrine system and integrative support.
