Meadowsweet
Originally from Europe, Meadowsweet was already used for its medicinal properties in the Middle Ages. Its flowers contain salicylic acid , known to be the precursor to aspirin . It is traditionally used for its role in muscle health, particularly in relieving joint and muscle pain.
The action of the plant is based on the presence, in the flowering tops , of flavonoids and especially salicylated derivatives (salicylic aldehyde and salicylic acid).
Thanks to its flavonoids , meadowsweet is also used for its diuretic action , helping to reduce excess water in the limbs.
This plant is part of the French pharmacopoeia .
We use meadowsweet in B-XCare to relieve joint pain.
